It Was Romance began as the solo project of Lane Moore, using found and collected instruments, including an electric ukulele with a distortion pedal that she plays like an electric guitar, and her voice. Years later, it grew into a garage rock quartet that has been featured and praised by Pitchfork, Billboard, Vogue, Village Voice, and Bust magazine.
